A rare Watkins V-Front Dominator valve (tube) amp in very good condition and excellent working order. Dating from around 1958/9, it's just had a full service and sounds superb - this iconic vintage amplifier is a real gem. The tremolo is really nice - plenty of depth, some thump at more extreme settings, but very usable - has had the slowest speed setting reduced for greater versatility. The original foot-switch is in good condition.
The cabinet is in very good condition for an amp that’s approaching it’s 60th birthday. It’s had a thorough overhaul to bring everything back up to original spec. Many components in these early Watkins amps are way out of specification now: fine if you want to sit and look at it, but no good if you want to put it to good use. The amp is all-original internally aside from minor components that were replaced as required. The original 10" Elacs are present, undamaged, and working well.
These early black panel V-front Doms are getting harder to find in good original condition - this one’s a real beauty - Please see detailed photos.
This is a UK 240v mains-powered model and will require a step-up transformer for operation in countries with 110-117v mains supplies. The UK plug will be removed prior to shipping to countries with 240v mains supplies, unless otherwise requested.
